on the red carpet: beyonce

I have said it before and I will say it again - she is a Goddess. At last nights MTV VMAs Beyonce announced her pregnancy oh so fashionably in an orange Lanvin gown. Last night nearly all the A-List ladies were wearing black or silver, so I am thrilled that B didn't follow the crowd and instead chose this incredible colour. She does have a history of looking too put together on the red carpet, but everything about this look is perfect. I love the relaxed yet glam feel to her side swept hair, and her jewellery compliments her stunning dress and shoes. She looked out of this world beautiful.

Congratulations B x

white leather

who wants to buy me some converse?

LOVE these. I never ever wear trainers but I think that is because I have never found a pair that I liked. I was once on the verge of buying a black pair of converse way back in the early noughties when I was an unfashionable teen, but luckily I was put off by the fact my Dad had once owned the same pair. These on the other hand are perfect. The exposed zip detail and the black stitching are subtle and feminie touches, and the fact that they are leather makes me want to cover some steaks in white paint and walk around in them untill I can wear these- did I mention I'm vegetarian?

on the red carpet: anne hathaway

Anne has come a long way from the bushy haired babe in The Princess Diaries. She looked regal and elegant in this Alexander McQueen resort dress this evening at the London premiere for One Day. The old Hollywood hair is perfect with this as it doesn't take away from the simplicity of the dress whilst not adding to the complexity of it. This is not a home run for me though, her stylist (Rachel Zoe) should never have put Anne in these shoes. For me, the shoes look heavy and too day time with the rest of the ensemble and I think a barely there sandal in cream, nude or gold with a really thin strap would have finished this off perfectly. Other than that I have no complaints, she looks marvelous as always and I love the fact that she is having a bit of a McQueen moment recently.Keep up the good work Annie.

a royal cover for vogue

No, not Kate, the Disney Princesses of course! An artist named Dante has done eight illustrations of the Disney ladies on the cover of the one and only Vogue magazine. They are really beautiful and kind of edgy actually. My favourite thing has to be the cover stories that poke fun the the stories behind the Princesses, specifically The Little Mermaid - 'Thingamabobs? She's got 20' and Jasmine's '3 wishes'. Princess Jasmine has my favourite cover by far, you cant go wrong with Chanel and giant gold earrings!

Who is your favourite Disney Princess cover girl?

gold dust

Feeling like a G in my glitter Miu Miu trainers.

Ok, I will own up to the fact they aren't mine- they were sent in to glamour for a shoot and I couldn't resist trying them on. They are so tacky and 'blinging' that they cross over from hideous to down right brilliant. I want them.

Zara jumper, Dorothy Perkins shorts, Miu Miu sneakers.

what comes before part b? part a

geddit?

With my 21st birthday coming up next month I have been on the hunt for a party dress. I was doing my usual cruise of net-a-porter when I came across this stunning collection of party wear. Sadly, my bank account cannot accomadate serious designer purchases, but not to worry, I have spotted a few lovely ones on the high street so stay tuned for those. In the mean time feel free to enjoy these beauties with me...

evil eye

I am fascinated by evil eyes. I briefly owned a bracelet with and evil eye on it when I was eighteen, but it was only a few blue beads on a leather strap that I bought on a girls holiday in Cyprus. I have been keen on purchasing an item of jewellery or clothing with an evil eye on it for a while now but I want to make sure I do it right!

Not only is the evil eye symbol very beautiful, it has a really extraordinary history and meaning behind it. In fact, the image associated with the evil eye is actually a talisman to ward off the evil eye which is a look that is believed to cause injury or bad luck for the person whom it is directed at. The blue eye that is seen across countries such as Cyprus, Turkey and many Middle Eastern countries is believe to protect the wearer from any harm...and of course they are really pretty.

all stars

Project Runway All Stars is looking better by the second! The next season of the hit design based show will not be feautring the usual unknown, down on their luck designers, instead they are bringing back some of the very talented runners up from the last 8 seasons to compete. Rumour has it that those lucky enough to live in the US of A will get to see this fashion feast this Autumn, whereas us Brits will have to wait a while longer (unless you are naughty and abuse the internet). The season has some fashion A-listers on the judging panel including Marchesa co-founder Georgina Chapman as well as Isaac Mizrahi and mentor to the designers will fall on the shoulders of Marie Claire editor, Joanna Coles. And Heidi? She is being replaced by Angela Lindvall. Some past season favourites are back so I want to share some of my favourite designs by a few of those who are returning to the sewing machines at Parsons...

April Johnston

Austin Scarlett. A dress made completey from corn husks.

Jerell Scott

Kenley Collins. One to watch purely for her arguements with the judges!

on the red carpet: zoe saldana

Zoe Saldana twirled on to the red blue carpet the Teen Choice Awards last night in Los Angeles. The Avatar star wore a bronze Lanvin dress and gold Alexander McQueen shoes and looked fabulous. The images I have seen of Zoe stood still in this dress are far less impressive, infact kind of dull, but as soon as a breeze or any slight movement got into the foil layers of the dress it completely came to life. Zoe looked beautiful and elegant but at the same time managed to capture the youth and playfulness of the event.

lemon meringue pie and strawberry mousse

This weekend my family and I went to Cornwall for my Nanny's 90th birthday celebrations. It was also the first time I have seen my brother since he returned from travelling around South America for six and a half months on Wednesday and he was looking particularly dapper.

I am wearing: Topshop dress, New Look shoes, Louis Vuitton clutch, Azendi green agate ring, Vintage bracelet.

Matthew is wearing: J Crew blazer, Jack Wills Shirt, Cheaney of London shoes, Tie Rack pink bow tie.

hot from the press

The brand new September issue of Glamour magazine UK. One of the perks of being a lowly intern is that I get the fashion scoop, this meant that on Friday I had the priviledge of reading Glamour before it has even hit the stands. The upcoming issue is a really great read and I would reccomend it purely based on the stunning images of Mila Kunis that accompany her interview. Be sure to check it out when it hits the shelves!

tell me about it, stud.

These are my new winter boots. I know it is only August, but why let boots like these fly by? I had seen them online in dark brown, and although they were beautiful I wasn't in the market for brown boots after my boot buy in the sales earlier this summer. Obviously they were in stock in the Oxford Street store so I had to have to them. The great thing about black, or even brown, leather boots is that they have become a perfect transitional piece. They are perfect in summer time with a cute playsuit, shorts or even a pretty floral dress and then of course they go with everything as soon as the colder months roll around. I am desperate to wear these as soon as possible but I am terrified of the obligatory blisters that come hand in hand with new boots. Somebody hand me some thick socks!

from inside the fashion cupboard

Day 2 outfit. Zara dress, Chanel bag, Topshop shoes, River Island sunglasses, Michael Kors watch.

unpacking shoes!
I have only spent two days at Glamour magazine but I am pleased to report it has been an excellent experience so far. Day 1 had an amazing start when I met Glamour editor, Jo Elvin. When I first saw her it felt like meeting a celebrity, as I have seen her face in the front of Glamour nearly every month since I was 14. I think I involuntarily held my breath the entire time she shook my hand and said "nice to meet you". Heaven knows how I will react if I ever have the oppertunity to meet Alexandra Schulman or her royal highness, Anna Wintour. Most of my first day was spent unpacking clothes from a shoot with Britney Spears. Obivously Britney was given some really outrageous and fabulous outfits to wear, including a beautiful cream feather dress by Versace and an amazing Dolce & Gabbana number covered in gold sequins with thigh high boots to match. The shoes in the image above were only one of two suitcases completely full of shoes- a girl always needs options.

I am excited to see what adventures lay ahead of me so stay tuned...

on the street: topshop oxford circus

I saw this girl at the mothership (aka Topshop on Oxford Street). She is so stylin'. From the baby Chanel draped over her shoulder to the stars on her dress that match her trainers and socks, this girl has incredible personal style. Sadly this image doesn't show the beautiful layers of necklaces she had tucked underneath her collar, but my eye was drawn to this incredible evil eye she was wearing. Again I am forced to realised how uncool I am.
